This is my attempt to recreate a green tea infused pork chop I once had at a restaurant. I served it with some new potatoes and a small baby spinach salad.
First I brought 2 cups of water to boil with 2 Tbs of salt and 1 Tbs of honey. Then I added two tea bags and took the pot off the heat and let the tea bags steep. The only reason I used honey was because I had some available I could of used 2 Tbs of sugar.
Once the tea had cooled I put it in a plastic container with the pork chops and let them brine for 8 hours in the refrigerator.
After 8 hours I took the pork chops out of the brine a added a few grinds of pepper and a pinch of salt to the chops. I also started up my grill.
I use a charcoal grill but if you have a gas grill set it to medium high. I then grilled the chops on each side for 4-5 minutes. After they were done I let them sit for a few minutes on the kitchen counter before serving. I think next time I will use 4 tea bags to try and get more flavor into the pork.
